How to Live a Curious Life
Apr 28, 2022
Poet Mary Oliver on living a curious and captivated life:
"When it's over, I want to say: all my life I was a bride married to amazement. I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.
When it's over, I don't want to wonder if I have made of my life something particular, and real. I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened, or full of argument.
I don't want to end up simply having visited this world."

If you’ve experienced Zen Thai Shiatsu before you probably know that feeling afterwards of ‘What just happened?’. A Zen Thai treatment can be utterly otherworldy in that it takes the receiver’s mind far beyond this ‘physical’ realm we spend most of our time, and ushers it into the subtle and energetic. When we come back to earth at the end of a treatment, we might feel more alive, more vital, more free.
Zen Thai is an exquisite art where the therapist uses their whole body in an intuitive and free-flowing dance, woven with focused attention and precise intention. When a therapist is deeply present, the receiver’s own focus intrinsically maps the same body terrain. By bringing the receiver’s own awareness and energy to new places that may have been lacking life-force, we activate the receiver’s own self-healing mechanisms.
The best therapists in my opinion, just like the most expert humans at really living life, are not the ones who ‘master’ techniques or learn any kind of knowledge by heart. They are the ones with endless and infinite curiosity, captivated by the canvas in front of them.
With love,
Brookie
